Create Grading Schemes

Grading schemes designate the values that are used to report student achievement.

Grading schemes allow users to interchangeably use numeric and symbolic, or alpha, means of grading. Symbolic schemes would designate values such as E/S/N/U or A/B/C/D/F.

The system has a built in scheme — Numeric — which is the traditional 100 point grading model, but also allows the school to build their own custom schemes to meet their needs.

Create a grading scheme

  1. Select Students from the Jump to Module pull-down list in the upper right corner.

  2. Select Set Up, then Grading Schemes from the Grades menu, and that window opens.

  3. Click Add Scheme, and the New Grading Scheme window opens.

  4. Complete the fields as described.

  5. Click Create. The Identifier is saved, and that window opens displaying the message, "*grade mapping is required*".

  6. Click Edit Identifier, and that window opens.

  7. Complete the fields as described.

  8. Repeat step 7 for each mapping. Note: The range minimum and maximum for all characters must cover 0-100.

  9. Click Save.
