Add Skill Sets

Skills are the specific components of evaluated subject material.

Only one skill set can be attached to a course, but multiple courses could share the same skill set.

Each skill set can use two grading schemes.

Skills that are added to a grading policy only apply to cycles within a term; they must be populated again for the following term.

Skills cannot be added by teachers.

How skill sets are used

They are generally used in grading policies for pre-K and kindergarten students, who don't get numeric or letter grades.

They can also be used in hybrid grading policies that are a combination of both skills and assignment-based grades. Both are shown on the report card, but averages are determined by assignment grades. One situation in which a campus might use this option would be for higher level language classes, where teachers want to indicate both a student's proficiency in speaking and grades on assignments.
